How to shrink volume in windows7 ?

How to shrink volume in windows7

After Buying a windows7 installed laptop, Some users face the problem that there is only one drive for maximum GB allocated.

That is c: is allocated(for ex 320GB),Now you need to shrink this volume in to more manageable drives, so that you can seperate the data and avoid loss of data when windows is corrupted.

Follow these steps

1.Press Windows+r and type "diskmgmt.msc" without quotes

2.Right click the c: and select shrink volume

3.Type the amount of gb you have to shrink by default
it shows maximum GB to be shrinked so type those values in the box, press ok

4.Now some unallocated space has been created

5.Right click the unallocated space and click create simple volume and give a
letter for the drive and format drive with default ntfs system and press ok

6.Now you have your new drives created so that you can seperate os from data drive.
