Sometimes, if you start Windows 7, Vista or XP, the system will start a Check Disk (CHKDSK) for consistency, automatically. You won’t manage to solve such issue, if you restart the computer. No matter what you do, Windows will keep doing and checking for consistency. Apparently, the only way to fix this behaviour is press any key on your keyboard to abort the process. But why, does Windows operating system need to check your disk? This behaviour is triggered when some data or sector in your hard disk is corrupted and actually can not be recovered at all. In order to fix it, Windows will keep doing a check disk every time you reboot the system, without any success. Let’s see how to turn off Check Disk from automatically start every time you boot Windows.
.Turn on your computer.
.Press any key to abort the automatic checking for consistency process.
.Click Start
.Open the CMD window (Command Prompt).
.Type chkntfs /X C: to disable CHKDSK
.If you want to turn CHKDSK back on, type: chkntfs /D
