If you want to block all USB ports in Windows so that nobody have access to the data in your computer, here is a registry tweak to block USB drive access to your system without using any software.
Follow these steps.

• Go to Start > Run
• Write ‘regedit‘ in Run box and press Enter
• Now select HKEY_LOCAL_mMACHINE > System > CurrentControlSet > Services > USBStor
•  Now double click on ‘Start‘ in the right panel and change its value from 3 to 4 
•  

• Restart the computer and all your USB ports are blocked now
• To unblock the USB ports, follow the same procedure and change the above value back to 3 from 4. thanks !

Enable Missing Default Games in Windows 7

Windows 7 comes with some defaults games like solitaire and even some games like chess and mahjong are in 3D. These basic games are good to kill the time but the problem comes in Windows 7 Professional where these default games are missing.
So we need to enable and install these games in Windows 7 Professional. Here is a short method to get back these missing games.

• Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs
• Click on the option ‘Turn Windows Feature On or Off‘

• Now click the Games folder, you can select the games that you want to install here. Click OK.

Now it will install the games that you selected and after installation, you should be able to see the games under Start menu from Windows 7. To uninstall, go back to Games folder and click OK.

Firefox – Block Cookies of a Specific Website

If you are not sure of a certain website gathering information about your browser cookies you may want to block or disable cookies for that specific website. It is easy to specify a website in Firefox and block from serving you up any cookies via the browser. Here are steps to block/ disable cookies from a certain website.

Go to website that you want to block cookies access from
•Go to Tools > Page Info in Firefox
•In Page Info window, select Permission Panel
•Under Access Cookies, uncheck use default option and change the setting to block

•Close the page info window and you are done
If you want to see a complete list of websites that you have blocked access to cookies and want to make any changes i.e allowing cookies etc), follow these steps
•Go to Tools > Options in Firefox
•Select Privacy tab

1. Full screen view of videos: Press F11 to view the running video in full screen mode and do the same to get back to normal screen size.

2.Play or pause a video: Pressing space bar will pause the currently running video and pressing space bar again will release (play) the video again.

3.Volume up/ down: If you want to turn volume up or down when a video is playing, press up arrow to increase volume or down key to decrease volume of the video.

4.Forward or Rewind a video: Pressing left key rewinds video 10% and right key forwards video 10%.

5.Skip through the video: If you do not like the starting of a video and want to skip the starting part or even want to jump over to half of the video, you can do so using keys 0 to 10. 0 being a shortcut to jump at the beginning of the video.

The installation process

* Locate the Firefox 4 file that you have just downloaded from Portable Apps, the file should be something like FirefoxPortableTest_4.0_otherstuff.exe
* Double clicking this file will start installing. On the second screen, it says ‘Choose Install Location‘. Use Browse option here to navigate to your USB drive.
* Hit the Install button
* Firefox 4 will now be installed on your USB drive and you just need to hit Finish button to end installation.

To use Firefox 4, Open your USB drive on your computer and locate /FirefoxPortableTest/FirefoxPortable.exe, click FirefoxPortable.exe to run Firefox 4 but you need to close if you are running your already installed Firefox on your computer to run one from the USB.

Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe) is the window manager that gives you effects like transparent windows, live taskbar thumbnails, quick re-size and preview, flip feature and many more in Windows Vista And 7.It's not a virus!
But It consumes most of memory (approximately 55MB per windows,task).

Here are the steps to stop this dwm.exe temporarily without disabling it to speed up your PC
-->Type “Service” into the search box
--> Select the “Service” link
-->Right click on “Desktop Windows Manager Session”
--> Select “Stop” to stop it from running

Disable dwm from startup
--> Double click on “Desktop Windows Manager Session”
--> Select “Disable”
-->Click “OK”

How to install multiple OS by partitioning hard disk

Requirements:
1.Partition Magic software.or any other Partition software i go through Partition Magic steps.
2.Back up your hard drive atleast important files.

Steps
For partitioning and ready the hardisk for installing multiple os follow the steps below.any doubt ask us by giving comment.
1.For example your system has 80GB harddisk You partitioned like below
C: primary 25 GB(XP is installed)
D:logical 30GB
E: logical 25GB
F:Cd drive
2.Install Partition Magic Next steps are do in partition magic software.

3.See what are the partitions available

4.If only one partition C: is shown then you have to format the other colons like
D: E: or any drive and delete those colons.

5.Now you have free spaces in your hardisk with C: have xp

6.Click Create new partiton in partition magic

7.Provide the name and size leave the file system as NTFS
for example D: 30,000MB(30 GB)

8.Create another Partition and specifies the file system as "ex3"
Name as Linux,Size as you like ex:23000 MB click ok

9.Create another partition change the file system as "swap"
specified balance space from your harddisk 2000MB and click ok

10.Click APPLY in the left bottom of partition magic software

Now You have

C: 25 GB with XP already installed
D: 30 GB Free Space
Linux ex3 23GB
swap space 2 GB
For installing linux
Go Ahead take the Linux installation CD or DVD.
1.open Partition Magic
2.Click Install another Operating System click Next
3.Check the linux option click next
4.Select the ex3 partition you have created and click finish.

Step 1.

Choose the track which you want to play at start-up and shutdown jingles,

Limitations are

It should be in .WAV format.
The size of file should not be large, prefer keeping them within in 1 Mb, otherwise

your startup will take a bit longer.
If the file you want to make your start-up or shutdown is not in .WAV format, you can

easily convert them using Jet Audio 7, or any other converter.

Step 2.

Now rename these files as “Windows XP Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP

Shutdown.WAV” respectively.

Step 3.

Now Go to “C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you will find files “Windows XP

Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP Shutdown.WAV”, move them to some other

locations, this step is required for, in case you need to revert back these sounds, else

you can ignore this step.

Step 4.

Now the files you have chosen and renamed, just copy-paste or cut paste them in

“C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you go, now you can enjoy the new Start-up and

shutdown.

Follow these steps

1.Press Windows+r and type "diskmgmt.msc" without quotes

2.Right click the c: and select shrink volume

3.Type the amount of gb you have to shrink by default
it shows maximum GB to be shrinked so type those values in the box,press ok


4.Now some unallocated space has been created

5.Right click the unallocated space and click create simple volume and give a
letter for the drive and format drive with default ntfs system and press ok


6.Now you have your new drives created so that you can seperate os from data drive.
